Forza Horizon 6 received universal acclaim. On Metacritic it scored 90/100 (PC) and 91/100 (Xbox Series X/S); OpenCritic recorded a 100% recommend rate across 142 reviews [WIKI].
Critics praised the Japan setting, the expansive open world, the driving feel, and the variety of activities. PC Gamer called the cutscene dialogue "bland" and GamesRadar+ called the story "shallow"; some noted the structure felt conservative [WIKI].
On Steam the all-platform user score sits at roughly 80% positive. The Simplified Chinese region is the clear outlier — about 67–69% (Mixed / 褒贬不一) across roughly 8,000–10,000 reviews, the lowest of any language — while the other regions average about 86% (Very Positive). The gap is driven by localisation-quality and Xbox-network complaints, not the Japan setting.
